Founded in 1995, PHD Capital was purposely created to fill an important niche for the worldwide investment community. The future partners agreed that there were too few solid, smart U.S. equity investment services available to business owners of small and medium-sized companies, both domestic and abroad. To meet the needs of that underserved population, the three men, with synergistic talents and a common commitment to client satisfaction, got together to develop PHD Capital, an investment firm devoted to strategically bridging this gap between Wall Street and the worldwide investment community.
Our Management team boasts over a century of combined financial experience, and are ready to put their knowledge to work for you.

Peter Hoffman
Chief Financial Officer/Vice President
Peter Hoffman has an unusual background for a Chief Financial Officer. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Pete, at age 17, enlisted in the United States Navy, serving in the Pacific as a Nuclear Propulsion Engineer. Six years later, Pete traded the ocean for the desert. He left the active Navy and enrolled in the University of Arizona, where, in 1987, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He then returned to New York City where he earned his CPA in 1993 and then set up his own accounting office in Manhattan, Peter Hoffman CPA.

Quickly earning a reputation as an outstanding Certified Public Accountant, Pete Hoffman soon attracted other accounting firms as clients, as well as individual business owners and professionals. Among those clients were his future partners, Jody Eisenman and Nelson Braff. The pair had recently launched Perrin, Holden & Davenport Capital Corp. They knew they needed a cutting edge CFO, and offered Pete the position. That was 1997 – the start of a highly successful three-way partnership, and friendship.
